I am truly thankful to you Lord and grateful for how far you have brought me. I dedicate this poem to you.
When I wake up in the morning and feel the sun’s warm light
I whisper, “Thank You, Lord,” because You kept me through the night
Not just for breath, or for my health, though I am grateful for those too
But for your love, unfailing love, that daily pulls me through.
When I was down and all hope seemed lost
You held my hands and showed me I am not alone
When I felt stuck and couldn’t see beyond my past
You told me to look to my future and have a blast
Your unchanging love reaches deep in my soul
Your Word makes me whole
And even beyond the things my eyes can see
Like the animals, plants, and trees
Lord, Your love is ever flowing around me
Giving me the strength to walk through life like a breeze
I thank You, Lord, for the quiet days, for strength in every bone,
For knowing that I am never lost, and never alone
I don’t need riches, fame, or gold to say I am truly blessed
I just need You, and I have got You, and in that, I find my rest
So, let my heart be full of praise, from sunrise to night’s fall
Because I am truly thankful, Lord, and You have been good to me through it all
