Cracks and holes
Bullet s on soles
The outbreak of war
Everything’s gone sore

The loud battle cry
Darkness drawing nigh
Belligerents march
At the strike of a match

The loud cries of mothers and babies
Instant destruction of cities
The smell of gunpowder in the air
So strong it sticks to the hair

The spill of blood everywhere
Soulless cries fill the air
Skies bare
Grounds clear

The feeling utterly disturbing
Sound of my stomach churning
Is this the feeling of war
Freedom no more

Grounds glistened with tears
Hearts pierced with spears
Bodies strung up on trees
They come in twos and threes

Sounds of bones cracking under the feet
Bodies spread on the floor like sheets
The mind so sure
Our souls fear
The drums of war
